FC Barcelona signed a syndicated loan with ten financial institutions, led by La Caixa and Banco Santander, for a total of 155 million euros that will be allocated to meet the immediate needs of the club.
Club president, Sandro Rosell, and said in his inauguration that Barcelona needed to "find resources" to meet financial commitments in the short term. With this new syndicated loan financing, of which also involved Caja Madrid, BBVA, Banesto, Banco Popular, Banco Sabadell, Caixa Catalunya, CAM and Cajamar, the club will launch a new strategic plan that will make available money to sign new players.
For the Catalan club, this syndicated loan is a "show of support" from financial institutions to FC Barcelona and has extensive financial support, as it has achieved a higher amount than originally expected
